Information
GE Offshore Wind, a GE Renewable Energy business, has more than 600 employees in the world. Today, we have wind turbines operating on three continents and we have installed the world’s most powerful offshore wind turbine in operations, the Haliade-X 12 MW, which set a new world record in January 2020 by generating 288 MWh of continuous power in one day, and that has received its provisional type certificate.
We have also signed supply contracts of the uprated Haliade-X 13 MW with Dogger Bank Wind Farm for the first two phases (A&B) of what will become the world’s largest offshore wind farm, located off the north-east coast of England.
Today, GE Offshore Wind has approximately 5 GW of order backlog. The Haliade-X is a multi-million-dollar investment that is contributing to reduce the cost of offshore wind energy by making offshore wind a more competitive source of renewable energy.
